I have been an E-bayer for years....both as a buyer and a seller. When there is something I cannot find in the stores or is of a vintage nature, I usually have pretty good results checking with E-bay. I also have found that when I'm willing to wait for an item I can usually get it at a better price than in the stores.
As a seller I enjoy the process of selling, mailing, etc., however, there is much work involved in getting the items photographed, written up and then online. If the item isn't priced right then there is the expense of listing fees and "eating" that if it doesn't sell.
As a buyer I have found that most are very honest and willing to work with you. Only a couple of times in all the years I've been doing this have I had a seller that wasn't working within the E-bay rules as set forth by E-bay. Pretty good odds.
I have also had an opportunity to meet some very nice people and have continued to maintain contact with them through the years.
As the postage rates increase it makes it a bit more expensive to work via E-bay, but still find it to be one of the best sources to find most anything one might want.
