I have been an Ebay Registered User since 2001, I have sold & purchased item via the eBay medium.  Just recently I experienced a rather dreadful experience, when I purchased an item from a "Power Seller."  This Seller told me that in order for them to combine the packages, I would have to pay with one invoice.  This was conveyed after I had already paid for one of the five items I had purchased.  Two of the five items were "pre-sale" coins (Utah Quarters & Madison Presidential Coins); the other items included two other Presidential Coins (already released) AND a Presidential Album.  I had purchased the Presidential ALBUM and paid separately via PayPal to include shipping in handling.  After purchasing this album, I had completed the Utah Quarter under separate order, paying via PayPal to include shipping confirmation.  And, finally, I purchased the Presidential Coins under a final order (which included THREE separate listings) and paid to include Shipping insurance.  All in all, I finalized five sales, via three separate PayPal transactions, ALL INCLUDING INDIVIDUAL shipping insurances &/or confirmations.  After 35 days, I placed a claim with PayPal for the ONLY THE ALBUM. The Seller got angry; refunded the money to close the PayPal claim; then opened a non-payment claim with Ebay stating THEY NEVER RECEIVED ANY PAYMENT.  To make matters worse, once the COINS were released, the Seller sent me an email that he/she was NOT going to send my COINS because I had not allowed the items to be combined in shipping?  If they were combined in shipping, then why did the Seller charge me an additional $5.00 for extra shipping insurance for the other items IN ADDITION to their EXUBERANT SHIPPING & HANDLING FEES.
Never the less, I brought the matter to the attention of eBay's Trust & Safety Team, who expect me to wait until the claims are complete so that they will review.  If I had done this (which I simply would not do to another person), they would have shut my account down. The only reason I can see that they favored this Seller, for the time being, is that this is a Power Seller, who by the way, must have nothing else they can do in their life.  '

In conclusion, eBay is an excellant means to interact and trade with others; however, you MUST beware of the pompass arrogant Sellers, who think they can do anything to the "little buyers," with no recourse.

Take time to ask questions; know that one only has 45 days to make a claim on PayPal, unless you utilize their fraudulent claim (stating Unauthorized use of funds); and ebay will not help until you wait out an extraordinarily LONG period.  I hate that this one Seller has detered me from Buying anymore online. They have, however, shown me how it feels to get burned from the Buyers point of view, which makes it much easier to understand Buyers' uncertainties.

Thank you,
Holly

Like everything else in life, you have to read all the fine print on seller's auctions at Ebay. Good review :)
