e.l.f. Natural Radiance Blusher —

Because I had only been using Bare Escentuals Warmth as my face color, I decided to add e.l.f. Natural Radiance Blusher to my shopping cart while placing an online e.l.f. order a few weeks ago.  I selected Glow as my color option, although there are 5 additional colors.  Glow is a peachy-pink shade that looked like it would complement my skin tone without making me look like I had been slapped around!  Each blusher is only $1.00 (plus S&H).

What I like about it:  The plastic container that holds the blusher is great.  It's a fairly thick plastic that slides open to reveal the pallete.  I like the color of the blush a lot and it would complement most fair skin tones if it carried over onto your face...more on that in a minute.  I LOVE the price!  e.l.f. does not do animal testing, so this product has not been harmful to any animals.  The scent of the product is "sugar orange" but I don't really smell anything, which is just fine with me.

What I don't like about it:  First of all, this blush contains talc, parabens, mineral oil, and mica, so you're going to be getting several ingredients that are either not great for you or may cause skin irritation.  A big concern about this pressed powder blush is that it crumbles almost instantaneously as soon as you touch a brush to its surface.  However, this may end up being a good thing, because this blush is so light that you need to use an immense amount to get any color to show up on your skin.  My skin is very light, so if it doesn't show up on me, it probably won't show on most people.  I can't even tap off any excess powder, because if I do, I have to apply several more "coats" to get any effect.  My experience with most e.l.f. products has been that the color shown on their website photos and in the packaging when it arrives does not look the same once it's applied to your face.  It appears much lighter, if color even shows at all!  See my review of e.l.f. Plumping Lip Glaze for another example.

All in all, I should have saved my dollar and spent it on a higher quality product that contains more pigments and no parabens or talc.  This is fine if you have vampire-pale skin and don't mind the ingredients, but I'll be looking for a better product.  You really do get what you pay for on this one!

Ugh, gross. The oompaloompa look is definitely not a good thing, even if it did only cost a dollar! :) I spent under $15 on my e.l.f. order, but frankly, most of it except the cuticle pen was a waste. Bare Escentuals is WAY more expensive, but the quality is worth it and is lasts so much longer. At least it was a cheap lesson learned... Thanks for the comment!

Excellent review!! E.L.F. may be inexpensive but the products are made really cheap. I tried the clarifying pressed powder and it turned orange on my complexion about a minute after application. In the long run, certainly not worth it.
