I am a lip gloss junkie, so I was eager to try e.l.f. mineral lip gloss. I had never used mineral gloss before, so I was hoping for an exciting adventure.
Unfortunately, I wasn't very impressed. I bought the shade called "Pageant Princess," which, judging from the color swatch on the website should have been a semi-dark rosy brown shade. Instead, it was a very lackluster pink that didn't look much different than my natural lip color. It was also a little grainy, but I'm not sure if this had to do with the fact that it's a mineral gloss or if I just got a gloss that was a little off.
If you are looking for a highly pigmented gloss, look elsewhere as e.l.f. mineral gloss seems to be a sheer wash of color that's barely there. I was also disappointed that I continuously needed to reapply throughout the day; it was not very long lasting at all. Plus it is super shimmery, which I was not aware of before trying the product.
The one positive? It's not very sticky at all, which most lip glosses seem to be.
I suppose for $3 I really can't complain, but when you are expecting one thing and get the exact opposite it can be quite frustrating. I would probably use this if I was strapped for cash and needed some lip gloss quick, but otherwise I wouldn't spend my money on it again. If you're looking for a basic gloss that's super shimmery and not very pigmented, this will probably work for you. Otherwise, I wouldn't bother.
