I met my boyfriend about 3 years ago and when I was introduced to the family, I met Wicket. Wicket was his male Shih tzu who was 6 years old at the time. He was a total sweet heart to me, he just would sit in my lap or nuzzle up next to me. I guess that was a sign that I was welcome into the family.

If I spent the night he would jump in the bed with me and fall asleep behind my knees. When my bf (now fiance) would leave for work at 6AM Wicket would keep me company. I tend to spoil him now and then by letting him sit on this big pillow on the couch. He's grown to accept that as his throne and always sits there when we watch tv. I can't believe how smart he is sometimes. He knows that when my father-in-law comes home he makes a late night snack which equals he's going to get a snack. He's got the begging for food "puppy eyes" down.

At 9 years old he's sadly going blind in one eye and can't jump on the bed anymore due to arthritis. I now pick him up so he can sleep in bed with us. He's a little slow at times but dang sometimes he has this burst of puppy energy! I love him so much. I hate to think he might pass soon but if he does, we are deffinately getting another shih tzu!!
