When researching dog breeds that would fit our lifestyle, we knew a large breed would not be a good match. We needed a dog that did not require a fenced - in yard or a lot of maintenance. The pug is the dog for us. Junior, our 8 yr. old male, is the most loveable dog. All he wants to do is to sit on your lap and get belly rubs. As the other reviewers commented, you need to be careful with pugs. They cannot stay out in the heat or cold for too long b/c of their short noses. They also tend to shed, but that's manageable. The best part of having a pug is the constant love they give back.
I would get another if I could!
