dog breed Bichon frise Review Summary

One reviewer describes his Bichon as "the best dog I've ever had." Our dog loving reviewers had a lot of ways of describing the Bichon breed "empathetic", "cheerful", "playful", "cuddly", "soft", "warm", "loyal", "neat" and "smart", but the bottom line is that they love this breed. They do say that Bichons need to be to be brushed daily or their hair can become matted. But clearly they find the maintenance to be a very small price to pay for great companionship. Still want to look around? We've got many more dog breed reviews!

Ever since I first saw a Bichon I have wanted one. Last year we brought Zachary into our homes and heart. He is the perfect pet for allergy sufferers, and even likes to be brushed every day, which is necessary due to his thick coat. — — He is a little stubborn, and a bit moody-- he does not like loud laughter unless he is causing it. But when he is tired… read full review »

Lady is my second Bichon Frise. After having one for 15.5 years I had to have another. — These dogs are empathetic, playful, cheerful, cuddly, soft, warm, loyal, and smart. They can handle being left alone better than many breeds. Lady likes to rub against me like a cat, pounces on her toys and dog biscuits the way a cat does, bats around ice cubes and kibbles of dog food like a cat, and occasionally meows! — They're also sturdy for a small dog without being bulky. You can get surprisingly rough with these little dainty things. They understand more than they like to let… read full review »
