My Brother and his family own a Bichon and She is a wonderful family member.

She is great with all kinds of people, good with children, is very obedient and follows commands without hesitation. She is cuddly, loving and Loyal. She is a great dog and this breed is great for a family with any aged child. they don't have a mean bone in their bodies and will make any family a proud owner. They are also good for traveling, and can be left alone for periods of time without any complaints. I would recommend this breed to anyone especially those in apartments or smaller living areas. they are also quiet for the most part and only bark on ocassion.

I have a Bichon and he is fantastic, though he does bark, can be a little aggressive and a bit stubborn. In general I agree with your review, but there are slight variations with each dog. Maybe its a male female thing, my friend has a little girl Bichon and she seems more like your brothers dog.
