Hi everyone.  I have been ill for about 5 months  - Mono, then walking pneumonia and then the flu.  i have had about 3 weeks of recovery.  Once an ardent triathlete, I fid I can barely breathe.  I know how to coach and I know it takes time, but I am horribly bummed and could use some inspiration

Hi Ali! So sorry to hear you've been under the weather for an extended amount of time. I can imagine how rough it must be. I'm glad you're on the road to recovery as your body starts to heal itself.

We have a pretty fantastic crew of uplifters here at Viewpoints so I think you're in the right place for online support ;) There are games here on the discussion boards that can be fun time fillers like:

Wow.. that is a long road of recovery.  I'm sure you know to take it day by day and every little bit helps even if it's 10 minutes of light activity every day.  We started at work doing a video called instant recess which is 10 minutes of light movement excercise and it really helps.  If you've been there before you can get back.  keep us posted on your progress.

i know how you feel. in march, i got sick. just a cold. but it was the beginning of an odyssey the likes of which i have never seen. one thing after another, and i was sick for three months. twelve arduous weeks. after going through something like that, it is SO hard to pick yourself up and get out there again. I started out small. walk around the neighborhood for ten minutes. stuff like that. yoga helped. the thing is, you feel so fragile, so afraid you'll do something, anything, and you'll get sick again.

i see that you posted this a while ago. i hope you've worked it out. but if you haven't yet gotten back on that horse, i encourage you to do so now. it's never too late to start fresh.
