1 - What is the Viewpoints VIP Program all about?

The Viewpoints V.I.P program allows you to earn points for your contributions that allow you to earn status within the community.

2 - What does it mean for me?

Every time you contribute to the community, you will receive points. As the points grow, so will your status. Your status will be represented by a badge that will follow you throughout the site- On your profile page, product pages, review pages, home page and more.

3 - Do I lose credit for past activities?

Absolutely not! Your historical contributions were tallied and a badge has been created for you (if you accumulated enough points.) If you had Writer Status in the past, you will get a new badge (with your new Status) based on the points you have accumulated.

4 - How can I start earning more points to up my status?

Write a review,  post on the discussion boards and more... Visit V.I.P. central and GET STARTED!

5 - Where can I learn more about Viewpoints V.I.P.?

Yeah we do keep them, I already have 3 for the 3 years I've been here.  I'd like to see them on another page, or perhaps only display the most recent badge on our profile page with a link to see all badges.  

Personally, ever since these came out, I've been annoyed that I have to scroll down to see my newest comments.  It really takes up a lot of the page on the my home tab.

It's official. I'm now a viewpoints.com addict! Thanks for this great program. I'm still figuring it out, but so far...I love, love, LOVE it!

That would be me! I still can't figure it out, either. 

It wasn't you who I was referring to (Never noticed because 08 and 09 look very similar on my screen) but I guess VP gives you the highest status that you ever earned. (??)

I'm still trying to figure out some things about the new program and I know there will be revisions coming as they fine tune it but, in all, it's a load of fun.

Hey everyone!

Wanted to address the highest status badge following you rather than current. I will explain our initial thinking so you can see why we made the decision. But also know we are completely open to changing this so if the majority would prefer your current badge as the follower, we can make it happen!

Here are the reasons why we made highest status follow over current:

  • We thought you would like it that way because you worked so hard to get that high badge.
  • From a reader's perspective, we wanted to showcase your highest badge to boast credibility.
  • We were concerned about the issue with starting over every new year and didn't want it to feel like you were completely starting over from scratch as you contribute across the site.

Now, with that said we do realize it feels quite strange to those who do not have their current year Status badge following them. So, I'd like to start a thread on this subject so we can get compile the general consensus. Your input is GOLDEN and drives the changes we make... Weigh in on the conversation here!

Hey there njchicaa!

So sorry for the belated response in addressing the badge issue you have been wondering about... Find more info here on why we made highest status trumps current as the follower badge. Totally open to ideas for changing it and want to hear more about what you guys think.

V.I.P. looks good on you! :) But I can definitely understand how it feels strange to have an '08 badge following you.

i LOVE MY SITE, IT;S SO INTRESTING. I CAN GO HERE LOOK UP ITEMS I HAVE SEARCHED BEFORE AND GET HOSENT ANSWERS BEFORE I BUT THEM. THESE IS SO GREAT. I LOVE IT. I GET TO VOTE ON PRODUCTS I HAVE USED, MEET PEOPLE JUST GREAT. THANK YOU
