Facebook or Myspace? & Why?

I joined Facebook because several of my friends used it and were always talking about it. And it's fun hearing from past classmates and people who find you there! Frankly, I never tried Myspace because I'm having so much fun on Facebook. Plus, I'm addicted to Farmville! Anyone want to be my neighbor?

I use both Myspace and Facebook. At first I wasn't to sure of Facebook but I am on it know every single day catching up with old friends and family. Also its a easier place to advertised you business as well.There are alot of things that are different between the two website. And therefore I like them both and use them both.

I like MyPoints the best. I have received many gift card to give to family memebers for special occasions.I have tried InBox Dollars but it takes to long to rack up the points before you cash them in.Still looking for other websites though.

Just depends what your comfortable would disagree that Myspace is mostly for teenyboppers there's a lot of big time directors, musicians, and business people on Myspace. Yeah some of them have Facebook as well. I find Myspace for me to bit better looking in terms of design, and I like the ease that I can browse forums. If I really wanted to put my name out there and get noticed, I'd probably do Myspace. I know it gets a bad rap but it's gotten better. Just depends on what you prefer.

I too love Amazon.com. I also love Barnes & Nobles for books even though they are more expensive than Amazon. :)Recently I came to know that there is a website named AmazingWatcher.Com which is a free website that will “watch” items for you on Amazon and let you know when amazon has them in stock at regular retail price.It got so awesome!

Agree with everyone. Myspace seemed too young for me over time so once I got into Facebook, Myspace is still there but I hardly visit. Most my friends use FB all the time and Myspace only once in awhile.

I also agree that Myspace let's users do too much to their pages and therefore they'll load slow, or freeze completely, or just be such a mess. I like how Facebook keeps it simpler.

When I decided to do Facebook over MySpace, one of the major impressions on which I based my choice was that, while both let you publish a versatile mix of content, Facebook seems to organize it better. I think I saw too many Frankenstein MySpace pages with everything but the kitchen sink thrown together on the same page.

My perception of My Space is for the younger crowds. Just seems to be geared that way, but I haven't been there so maybe I shouldn't talk. Facebook lets you stay up to date with friends and family, share what you want with whom you want. Maybe, My Space is the same. I'm not a tween or twenty something anymore. I still haven't figured out how to tweet although I have an account on twitter. Tough teaching an ol'broad a new trick...lol......

I do keep a Facebook page under my pen name Rudi Xeno. Everyone who knows me through the Internet knows me by that name as do close friends and associates and those to whom I owe no money.

Seriously, MySpace seems so teeny-bopperish. And by the time I got interested in Social Networks it had pretty much been eclipsed by Facebook.

I find it's a good place for me to go when I want to tear off a rant about something while still staying in character. You might want to check and then get back to me.

First of all, it takes a while for a songwriter and/or recording artist to get a royalty.

It's really complex. Distributing a Britney Spears hit song 100,000 times illegally doesn't just take money away from Ms. Spears. You take a huge chunk away from the record company (only like 10 cents are royalty for the most part). Now they can't gamble on a no-name artist they may lose money on promoting. Their profits are being siphoned away by "file sharing" sites.

It's VERY wrong to assume that only the songwriters or members of a band are affected by illegally downloading music. Maybe you'll never hear Joe Nobody from Backwoods, Kentucky with the great talent ever because you killed the golden goose.

Ah, as creative as your argument is, it would never pass muster in a court of law, much less in the house of common sense.

Borrowing a physical set of DVDs for the express purpose of viewing them is not illegal, true. And making a copy of your CDs is legal as long as you are simply backing them up for personal use.

We know, however, that file sharing is not the same thing. If you copy a song from the latest CD album and take it to Warez-BB and share it there, you are not keeping your end of the social contract that you made when you bought the aforementioned album.

Your girlfiend, by the way, has not done anything illegal by borrowing your laptop for a day and listening to your albums. However, if she then uses your laptop or a thumb drive to disseminate the files within the hard drive, then she is.

This has been a very interesting conversation. I enjoyed reading all of the posts. I also got a chuckle. Apparently what I learned in kindergarten about sharing isn't right. Now I'll never have to share anything again! :D

On a serious note, I hated when Napster turned in to a business and charged for downloads but it makes sense. If my profession were an actor, musician, director, etc (i.e. food was going on my table every time I sold a record or movie), then I'd want my money!

I think the thing that makes it hard for some people is how much money these people make regardless of the stolen material. I bet tons of Britney Spears' stuff has been ripped off, and she's still living the high life (no drug puns intended - ha). When I use to download off of Napster I'd think to myself: "So what? Britney is only missing out on a dollar or two from me, and she has millions. What's the big deal?" The trouble is that it adds up when you have thousands upon thousands of people doing the same thing... and then there's that little thing known as the law.

I buy all of my music at iTunes, and most of my movies at Best Buy. The quality is better, and I'm not behind bars.

You guys are looking at this in a total disregard for what it actually is. Take for example, your girlfriend comes over and borrows your special Collectors Edition Harry Potter DVD box set. This is also peer to peer sharing.

The only thing illegal about sharing music or movies is claiming that you own it when you do not have the original. For example, downloading a DVDrip and then burning it onto a DVD. The thing with this is that it all gets lost in translation.

For eg. If I were to convert my CD collection into mp3s and put it on my laptop it is 100% legal because I own the original. Now...if my girlfriend borrows my laptop for a day, has she done anything illegal

Yes, i was sucked by the moneytree to they got me to buy something from them but i did not keep it but they are trying to make me pay for something i don't even have so peeople please be aware of who you deal with it could happen to you to.
