Veggies can be tough to grow - at least for me as well. The soil and location is so important. I'm not a gardener at all so I go for flowers that can't die like daffodils and chicken and hens - they are so cute. For indoors philadendrum are hard to kill for sure!

Steam vacuums - HELP

Thank you. I eventually put this question under "Pets" and got several responses as well. I really do love using the vinegar. And the Hoover. They work great together on my carpets. My cats don't do well with chemicals and I couldn't find a Hoover detergent product that specifically stated that it was pet-friendly. I use vinegar on lots of stuff but wasn't certain it wouldn't harm the Hoover. Other posters said they used vinegar in their machines and it wasn't a problem so I decided it was worth the chance. One of the best parts about using vinegar (for a lazy person like myself) is that I don't have to go over the carpets again to rinse out the detergent. Soap attracts dirt so when you use the detergent your carpet gets dirtier faster. NOT was I was aiming for. Thanks again.

Garage door opener recommendation - have one?

Thanks for the insight Rudi. Currently I am leaning towards a Chamberlain unit as they seem to garner the most favorable reviews from what I've read. Chamberlain also happens to private label their garage door openers under the Craftsman brand (though not all Craftsmans are manufactured by Chamberlain).
