What's Your Favorite Type of Pizza

Coming from New York, I believe the best pizza is made here.  I know that statement is loaded! There are so many different regional variations; Chicago Deep Dish, New Haven Style, Midwest Style, Southern Style, Bar Pizza, California Style, etc.

My old local corner pizzeria has recently been named as one of the top three in the country by Bon Apetit for best pizza.  This is a very hard earned and well deserved title for the owner who is now in his 70's.  His homemade pizza is truly a classic, and he is still making pies daily.

I have had many different types and feel there are none that match my favorite.  I prefer a thin crust with a light sauce, homemade buffalo mozzarella, fresh basil and cooked in a brick oven.  Not to say a gas fired oven using the same ingredients can't produce a great pie...it surely can.  Let's not forget about the crusty sicilian pizza....ugh!  I'm getting hungry!  It's thicker crust and square shape put it in a class all by itself.
