What Patty said, as usual. Some people are just funny naturally without even trying. Cyndi is one of those. So is Ron.

I have to say, I really crack up at some of the titles on the site. I just sit at my desk and chuckle. You guys keep me laughing all day.

Oh, and Cyndi, your ass buster review is still being quoted by Shari Thurow, an SEO expert on her conference circuit. She called to tell me how much she loves that review. Now, the world knows about you!

You're welcome Anna!!! I like injecting humor into my reviews be it a good or bad product. I enjoy reading reviews that are humorous/sarcastic it makes me laugh and I want to keep reading to see what else they say...If it gets my attention it could be 10,000 words and I would read the whole thing. ;)

Funny is in the ear of the listener, to borrow from and completely change an old cliche. What Patty said. Some people are just funny and, of course, what's funny to me might not be funny to you. My sense of humor is completely warpped. If you think your's is, let's compare sometime. I win! :) Self depreciation is the best kind of funny, I think, because it lets me know that person doesn't take themselves too seriously and I like that in a person.

What makes you laugh?

I like when people don't TRY to be funny but just are. Sometimes, when a person is just being themselves, you can just tell. And when they are trying to describe a bad experience, I often find myself laughing because they are so colorful in their descriptions. I also like when people are a little sarcastic about themselves. Self depreciation can be funny! I think really, it is just a person's personality shining through that makes me smile. I can almost hear them talking as I read their reviews. When a review is dry and factual, it is still good, but I don't relate as well and don't laugh! lol.

I love humor in reviews too and there is so much to enjoy here but what really makes me laugh sometimes may not be intentionally meant to be funny -- I'm talking about those unfortunate occasions where someone has tried a product and has been disappointed and is now trying to warn the rest of us off. There have been several like this that I enjoyed but the one that comes predominantly to mind was Kid-Kansas' negative review of his Rainbow Vacuum Cleaner. First this fell off and that fell off and by that time I was almost falling off my chair, laughing! The other day as I was vacuuming, I thought of this review and laughed out loud. Thanks for the grins, Ron!

I just like funny writing. Heck, yours are often quite funny, Cyndi... your Wal-Mart review is an absolute hoot.

I like seeing pictures where people have obviously cropped someone else out of the shot -- always makes me laugh wondering why the person got cropped.

--Bob

Several folks have mentioned that they like humor in reviews. I do too (-:

There are lots of ways to be funny (some intentional and some not). Without being real specific, what's made you smile or laugh here at Viewpoints?

A couple that come to mind (and I'm sure more will right after I hit post) are that one members dresses up her cats really cute (and funny) and another one tells about how clean her dishes get but under a clothes washing machine rather than dishwasher.
