I vote that comments are down because of Twitter. 

As far as Associated Content is concerned, it is always nice to diversify and go for new challenges but -- unless earning 15 cents for 100 page views excites you -- the prospect of being paid by AC is not enough to seduce me into abandoning ViewPoints.
