Review Hit Counts vs Cost of Item

I was reviewing my top hit reviews and found it funny how it all lays out.  You would think that the most expensive items would get the most hits, b/c people would be really researching before purchasing.  However some of my top reviews are not expensive items.  Here's a breakdown of my top reviews for the last 12 months and the approx expense of the item

  1. Home & Garden (Mattress - about $1000)
  2. Web Sites (Free)
  3. Food & Drink (Drink - 2$ or less)
  4. Travel (Airline - $500 or less)
  5. Web Sites (Photo site - 20$ or so per visity)
  6. Travel (Resort - $2500)
  7. Beauty (Makeup - 10$ or less)
  8. Food & Drink (Shelved food - 2$ or less)
  9. Movie (Older - 10$)
  10. Sports (Exercise Machine - 200$)

I guess what amazes me the most is how the foods make it onto the top 10 hit reviews.  It's funny to think that people are actually out there actively searching for foods that I buy at the store every week!  Of course it makes sense that the Vacation I went on is on the top list, but I actually was surprised it didn't move up to the very top seeing as it was so expensive.

This proves to me that, while expensive items are more likely to get hits, all reviews can equally get hits and it's hard to judge!  I've reviewed other hotels and kitchent things that I thought people would research a lot, and these aren't even on my list until page 3, yet Food and Drinks show up everywhere.

So what do you guys see in your stats?  Does the cost of the item seem to affect how many hits you are getting?  Or does it seem that even low costs items are topping the list?
