I've used Discmakers as the manufacturer for both of my CD Manufacturing projects.

They can be found online at www.discmakers.com. They also have local offices, although I dealt directly with their headquarters in New Jersey.

While there are plenty of CD duplicators, the allure of Discmakers is as a one-stop shop. They tie in so many of the extra services that a musicians needs. With the smaller manufacturers, some of these extra services are. well extra.

I manufactured 1000 CDs with color 4 panel jewel cases for 99 cents each on a recession fighter special where they commit to ship within 15 to 20 business days. They made that commitment, and their build quality was excellent. For that price, a bar code and soundscan (the electronic service that tracks sales) was included, as was shrink wrap.

Shipping was $180

That price was based on my supplying a design that was ready to be manufactured and a master CD that was ready to be manufactures.

I paid an extra $49 for th mega bundle that inclluded:
Registration in the All Music Guide
Physical and digital online distribution through CDBaby, a sister company
Registration in online sales site, Digstation

If you pay in advance, the provide free overs (a few extra manufactured) but they take pains to say that orders can be 5% over or under and my order was a little under, so I received a credit for the unders.

I dealt with a sales person in getting my order ready and a manufacturing person once it was released for manufacturing.

The process was fairly smooth. I did cause a delay because it took a little longer for me to get rights to manufacture one of the cover tunes, but ultimately all deadlines were matched.

Like many musicians, I have a full time job and music is my second job. I don't have time to chase a lot of details dow. The idea of a one stop shop is well worth paying for.

Plus, their recession fighter discount, which was not available when I manufactured my first CD in 2001, has made their pricing competitive with some of the other pressers.

They did a great job on both of my CDs. I don't see myself recording again anytime soon. But, if I do, I will use them. They are wonderful.

If you would like to check out my new CD, I have samples and info at www.jazzobsession.com.

Both CDs have been reviewed at viewpoints. Do a search on "Temmerman" to find them. The "Live" CD is the newer one.

Thanks for readiong. God bless!

I'm sorry your projects didn't go the way you wanted. My two projects did.

You've got to be kidding. Discmakers is notorious for its lack of customer services. I had very bad experience with discmakers and advise any serious musician not to buy from it. Buying from discmakers is like paying price of Macy's but getting flea market quality.

You're an inspiration. I've never gotten that far in thinking about any of my musical projects. I'll look up the site for more info, but I really enjoyed your review.

I haven't seen a review from you for a while so it was great to read this one. Then again, I have been out of action for a while myself when it comes to reading reviews.
