I was getting ready to leave for vacation and I noticed I was developing something, that's when my doctor stated I had a yeast infection and prescribed me Diflucan. The great part of this pill was you only have to take one to clear it up. I had a 24 hour drive a head of me so I still worried throughout the night but that morning I woke up to leave I was so much better. No odor, no itching.

Unlike other reviewers here, I did not use Diflucan for a yeast infection, but rather for an unfortunate incident of toenail fungus. Like the other positive reviews, I have to say: this stuff really works!! I'm sure this is too much information, but one day my toenail started looking kind of funky, kind of white in one corner. I foolishly ignored it for a while, hoping it would grow out, but it got worse and worse. It didn't hurt or anything, so I wasn't super-motivated to talk to a doctor about it. By the time I mentioned it to my doctor, my whole toenail had turned white and started to crumble away. Yuck! My doctor said that my poor toenail was past the point of being able to be helped by any kind of topical remedy, so she started me on a 3-month (!) course of Diflucan. She warned me that it doesn't work for everybody. However, I took my little pill every day with no problems or side effects, and my toenail slowly began to grow in normally. I now have a toenail that is 75% grown in, and looking better every day. Thank you Diflucan! Next summer I can once again wear sandals without shame.

I have suffered from yeast infections off and on for several years. I am usually able to prevent one by eating yogurt on a regular basis and taking vitamin supplements. However, a couple of times a year, I will still end up with that inevitable burning and itching. Over the counter medicines like Monistat just seem to make the problem worse, and I always ended up calling my doctor for a prescription. Doctors seem to have the belief that the messy creams are the best treatment, but for me, it's always been the simplest treatment - Diflucan. Diflucan is easy to take, as it is just one pill, taken one time. It stays active in your system for up to a week, and may take that full week to heal the infection. However, I always experience some relief within a day or two, which is more than I can say about the cream treatments! Side effects are possible according the manufacturer's included material, but I have never experienced anything other than a slight upset stomach which I believe can be avoided by taking the medicine with food. Next time you feel a yeast infection coming on, call your doctor and ask about Diflucan.

**Diflucin is the best medication to use for yeast infections.  Anytime that I am prescribed an antibiotic I automatically ask the doctor to also write an rx for diflucin.  It works great, all you need is one pill and you will be all better.  The prescription is usually not that expensive, with my insurance I think I pay a 10.00 copay.  I am not sure if it is available for men to use or not.  If you need to read up on it you should probably be able to go online and type in the name and it should be able to tell you if there are any side effects, but I don't really know.**
