cafemom is a great site to connect with other moms across the world.  You can create your own "homepage"/profile, and customize it to fit your personality.  There are groups you can join, with topics covering any hobby/interest/challenge you can think of.  Also, you can create a friend network, do some journaling, or share photos.  They maintain strict privacy/anonymity policies, too.  It is a relaxing place to get advice, support, and friends.  I've been a proud member since they started over a year ago.  Give it a try!
