The best cloth diaper!
In my opinion, Bumgenius 4.0's are the best cloth diaper! They come in adorable colors, and I like that they have both a waist and leg snap which helps get the perfect fit. The snaps hold up well, and I am planning on using our 4.0 diapers when my next baby is born in a few months. We used cloth diapers exclusively, and I am very pleased how well they have held up after almost two years of daily use. We have a few different brands of cloth diapers in our stash, and these were the favorite by far. Ease of Use Bumgenius 4.0's are very easy to use. I am the first person in my family to use cloth diapers for my baby, and many family members were concerned about how to use cloth diapers. I think they were thinking of the old school prefold and pins method, but were very surprised to see these updated cloth diapers. My husband had never changed diapers until our daughter was born, and within months was telling all of our expecting friends to try these cloth diapers. I was worried about how the grandmas would handle changing cloth diapers, but they absolutely loved these! Whenever babies are mentioned, both grandmas always suggest cloth diapers and say how easy they are to use. We do have a few different brands of cloth diapers, and I always sent these if someone else was watching my daughter since I found them to be the easiest diaper to use. Leak Prevention My daughter rarely had leaks using the bumgenius diapers. I think this is partly due to having adjustable waist and leg size snaps so the diapers can be fitted perfectly. I did switch to using prefolds as an insert instead of the included microfiber inserts, but that was more due to a smell issue than leak issue. Comfort The bumgenius diapers seemed to be very comfortable for my daughter. The inside is soft, and the outside did not cause rashes or chaffing for my daughter. Being able to adjust the size of the diaper is great, and helped to make a comfortable fit for my long skinny daughter throughout the nearly two years that she used these diapers. Absorbency I rated the absorbency based on the shell, and not the microfiber inserts that come with the shell. I used a folded prefold as an insert during the day, and two prefeolds as a night time insert. This worked great, and my daughter hardly ever had leaks! I did find that the microfiber inserts that came with the diaper were relatively absorbent, but we started to have stink issues with the microfiber inserts which is why we switched to a different insert.
