I have watched interviews and TV ads of people drinking healthy juices that include the fruits and veggies and it would be something I would like to try to put into my diet, but pricing juicers and the memory of mom and dad's juicer was still loud in my memories and how many times would I really use it if I did buy a juicer?

I was at my local Roundy's store the other day and near the health food section I noticed they had some new juices.  Lets ponder.  I spotted a bottle that said 8 1/3 servings of fruits and veggies. Antioxidant rich.  Well now we have something here.  I figured it was good tasting because it had a Kiwi and a granny smith apple on the front of it.

I purchased it ($3.49 for a 1 quart bottle). I got home and just had to try this. I poured...Oh my what did I get myself into this time? It's an olive green color and being a smoothie it's thicker then a juice.  I was iffy and I thought whats the worst that can happen?  Hey, this stuff isn't to bad. It's actually really good. Amy likes it.  OK, and now the color is kinda cool. I felt good because my glass gave me the fruits and veggies I needed.  Alright your asking your self...what does taste good taste like?  Well it is very fruity in taste with a hint of grass, but the grass taste went away for me.

Why does it have a hint of grass?  Well let me tell you what is all in this green goodness of a drink.  Ingredient's:

  • three apples, 1/2 of a pineapple, 1 mango, 1 banana, 1 Kiwi fruit, (juices are from concentrate) spirulina, open cell chlorella, zinc sulfate, green tea, (it gets better keep reading) spinach, broccoli, vitamin C, barley grass, wheat grass (grass flavor), blue green algae, echinacea purpurea extract, odorless garlic, lemon bioflavonoids, Jerusalem artichoke, dragon fruit juice, tamarind puree, lime juice and nova scotia.
  • This smoothie is gluten free, has no preservatives, no artificial colors, no genetically modified ingredients and antioxidant rich.

It says that there are about four servings per the one quart container. I would have it in the morning in a high ball glass with my breakfast.  As far as nutrition: 140 calories, zero fat, zero trans fat, zero cholesterol, 25 mg of sodium, 470 potassium (leg cramps are gone), 33 g of carbs (tad high) fiber 1 gram, sugars 27g and protein 2 g. Also has vitamin A, C, B6, B12 calcium iron, folic acid, manganese and zinc.  This is one very power packed drink.

So instead of going out and buying a juicer that I won't use but maybe once a year, I think once a week I will be picking up a bottle of Bolthouse Farms, Green Goodness.  I told my mom and sister-in-law about this drink and they were like "good for you, keep it away" HA, I told them that I am bringing a bottle down for a "No thank you portion" try.  I like it and I know they will too.

Compaired to the price of a juicer and how many times I would really use it, $3.49 is cheap for all the stuff that is packed into this bottle with out the cleaning up a juicer and buying of all the fruits and veggies.

It's a very pretty rich olive green. A friend of mine asked me if I tried rum in it with all the fruit it has. Hmmmmmm...kinda doesn't fit, but interesting idea LOL. I love all the potassium it has...I was getting tired of just eatting bananas, and this has a lot of foods in it that have that.

It looks gross but after reading your review, this sounds like something that I just might give a try. Never heard of this before. Thanks!

Yes, they are usually found in the produce section, next to the Marie's. Dad sounds like a man on Coumadin.

I didn't know they made dressings...I will try! I will have to try some of their other juices too and let my dad know. I know he would love this stuff, but with his heart he is not allowed to eat green veggies (Vitamin K causes him issues). I hope they are all good!

Nice review. Gonna try this. Bolthouse Farms makes some great products. If you haven't already, try their dressings.
