bella - Blaine, MN Review

We had a wonderful birthday party celebration with an awesome experience in Bella's Party room, however when we stepped into the bar area it turned horrible.

We wanted to try their desserts and coffee.  When the waitress, Cathyrn approached us she asked "Are you paying cash or credit card because customers walk out without paying their bill."  She then claimed management requires her to pay or reimburse the company back.  So I gave her my credit card, feeling awkward and she treated us like we were thugs.  I have been a waitress and I have never known of a restaurant were they would charge their wait staff for a walk out!?

I work in the financial industry and would never treat a client like this....no rapport building at all and I have never been asked when dining or sitting in a booth for my credit card.  She never greeted or introduced herself.  I found out her name when we received our bill.

We asked for the dessert menu and she found one and never explained the menu or how you pay for each cup of regular coffee.  CUSTOMER's BEWARE, it is $3 per cup of regular coffee. We have dined in many fine restaurants and have never been charged per cup of REGULAR coffee.  We ordered two desserts and two cups of coffee, the sampler and Spumoni cake.  She left for a long period of time and never offered water or to check on the desserts.  When she did return she said "You guys really cleaned this up" in a rude and negative tone of voice and asked if we would like more coffee.  We both said yes, not realizing we would be charged another $6.

We asked for the bill and she did not itemize it.  It came back for $31.79 and we asked for an itemized bill.  We couldn't believe it!  She also had the nerve to ask if I wanted to keep a copy of the bill. 

We walked out very upset and disappointed with the service from Cathyrn.  She was very rude and had no customer service skills.  This type of person will hurt any service business.  I would strongly recommend getting her out of serving your guests.  As long as Cathryn is working there, I would never come back.  I have been here in the past with other colleagues and I would never come back, knowing she is working at Bella's.
