After getting my hair cut I decided to go shopping. At some point I ended up at Walmart, of course! I went to the hair products to get some shampoo and wound up looking at curling irons. I knew I would be curling my hair on a daily basis now but I also knew that at home I had a basket in my linen closet with tons of curling irons and probably really didn't need a new one. But then I saw it! Was it a light from Heaven? No! It was the Bed Head line of curling irons and there before me was the most beautiful pink curling iron I had ever seen. Well, I must confess. I didn't hesitate to pick one up. My hairstylist told me to be sure to use a ceramic curling iron so as not to burn the ends. Hmm...are any of my curling irons at the house ceramic? I'm not sure. So I read the product information and settled on the 1" barrel because I knew I just needed something to turn the ends under. I wasn't really looking for a curling iron that would produce a lot of curls. That's what my sponge rollers are for.
The Bed Head 1" Nano Ceramic Hair Curling Iron product information says:
This all sounds really good. At $29.94 you better really love the product because there are some cheaper ones out there by Conair. I have been using my Bed Head curling iron for almost 2 weeks and I do love it. I'm not sure if it's actually any greater than other ones I have owned but it serves a purpose. As with my Remington Flatiron, the Tourmaline ionic and ceramic barrel really does reduce frizz; especially first thing in the morning or when you have been sleeping for a while and need to freshen up. I like that even if I already have some hairspray in my hair from the previous day, it doesn't get all sticky and gum up the barrel.
The 20 Temperature Levels can produce some really high heat. I've been keeping mine set between 12 and 15 and have burnt my fingers on occasion. I would hate to think what the highest settings would do to my hair. I love the flexi-cord because the OCD side of me loves to wrap the cords up after I'm finished using the product. The flexi-cord allows me to wind it up without a lot of kinks and it unravels beautifully.
This really is a good curling iron but I know that I only bought it because it was pink and would match my Ooh La La decor in the master bath and my hairdryer. Would I buy another one? Probably not. I know that the lower priced curling irons; especially the ones by Revlon and Vidal Sassoon work just as good and are a fraction of the price but for now this Princess In Training gets great satisfaction in knowing that her curling iron compliments her bath decor.
