I got my beardie as a sympathy gift when he was a baby, and he's been the greatest pet. He's calm, and funny, and a great source of conversation for my house guests. I even took him on an HIV/Aids Pet Walk where we won first prize for most unusual pet. He waves and does "push ups" and eats worms and grapes right from my hand. He is very low maintenance, but needs a big habitat to roam around. He scared me the first few winters by going into brumation which is the reptile version of hibernation, but we expect it now and just let him snooze. The added benefit is that my daughter is learning a lot from having a reptile in the house.
