Most HelpfulThe Baby Trend car seat has served us very well for the first year of my daughter's life; It is only for rear-facing and is not convertible. I've never worried about my daughter's safety and the car seat has been very easy to use. There are, however, a couple of drawbacks to the car seat that potential buyers might want to be aware of.
First, the car seat was very easy to install safely. It uses the LATCH system to install and attaches via strong buckles. In addition, when it comes time to remove the car seat base from the car, there is a button much like a seat belt button that releases the buckles...
review »Bought this for my third child. Had used a Graco one for the other two. This is much easier to use. Have adjusted the straps several times to allow for winter clothes. Sooooo easy. With a turn of a button on the back, voila.
Narrow base is great for fitting a couple car seats into smaller cars. (Pontiac Sunfire with three in the backseat, until we get our van.)
Only negative is the handle buttons are little tricky to push to get it to turn. Not bad though, once I figured it out the handle turns easily.
Great product!!
I was very excited to get this car seat because it had recieved excellent reviews from Consumer Reports in their crash test ratings. However, the car seat was extremely difficult to install using LATCH. Neither my husband or I get the base to fit tightly in the seat. The LATCH components on both sides broke as we were trying to install it. We then tried to install it with the regular seat belt, but couldn't get a tight fit with that either. A car seat is only supposed to be able to move about one inch from side to side when it is installed correctly, and with LATCH and the seatbelt the base moved...
review »I absolutely love the Baby Trend Flex Lock infant car seat. The handle has a nice triangular shape making it easy to carry. I also love that you do not have to retread the straps as baby grows. This is a big plus. As baby grows you can just turn the knob in the back to the right adjustment. No special tools required. I also love the fact that the weight limit is above 20 pounds. My daughter is 18 months old and weighs right at 21 pounds so she can still fit in this seat. There are only two things I was not too fond of about this seat. One is the harness latch between the legs...
review »I bought this car seat with my first daughter. I did a ton of research on car seats because not only did I want a car seat that was super safe but also one that had an easy to carry handle. Evenflo has a handle that is flipped the other direction but that doesnt rate very high. The traingle shaped handle allows my problematic wrists to hold the car seat a comfortable direction with minimalized pain. The baby trend car seat with flex lock has a nice padded triange shaped handle that allows me to hold the carseat however is comfortable at that moment. I love the fabric on mine, it is the...
review »Back in mid 2006 when I was expecting our first child my husband and I looked EVERYWHERE for the best infant car seat. After months of "car seat hunting" and doing a whole lot of research, we decided to go with a Baby Trend Flex Lock Travel System. It was at a good price compared with other systems available in the market at the time and the reviews were more than promising. Therefore we decided to include it on our Baby Registry. The infant car seat has been a complete success for us since the "triangular" shape of the handle makes it very easy to carry allowing you to position your hand and...
review »First off i have to say that i love this car seat. This is one of the number one rated infant car seats. It can hold up to 30 pounds and hieghts up to 30 inches. It has an easy one hand harness adjustment and push button release. It has 4-position push-button height adjustable base with level indicator for proper installation. It's height adjustable and easy to change with no harness rethreading. It is a one - hand easy -access seat release with a smooth carrying handle that won't scratch your arm . It has energy-absorbing foam for superior side impact ...
review »I like the baby trend flex lock car seat and I like also the base that it fits because I feel my baby is safe and secure and in that's really the only thing that counts when it comes to car seats. Size/shoulder adjustments are also very easy to make and directions are straight-forward and located on the seat itself. No more looking for the manual! Its all right there and virtually idiot proof.
The only thing that I would change are the buckles- though very secure, the bottom buckles are sometimes difficult to insert. They act like a puzzle piece - one goes on top of the other and then slips...
