Baby Trend Flex Lock  —

I bought the Baby Trend Flex Loc car seat because of the excellent crash test results, and reviews in Baby Bargains. I was very excited to find it on sale at Target for $75 early in my pregnancy. It took a little time to figure out the straps and all, but has since proven to be very easy to adjust! The dial in the back to adjust the strap height and headrest is my fave. The base was not difficult to install correctly using the LATCH system, and we use it in several other cars without the base, just strapped in with the belt. We also got the Snap-N-Go stroller in lieu of one of those giant travel systems, which has been very convenient! The only things I wish were different are 1. the shade-being an infant carseat I wouild expect the shade to close completely front to back since newborns cannot wear sunscreen, and to possibly have a window in it, 2. the headrest-I have read several recommendations not to install extra things in the carseat such as infant head supporters, but the width of the headrest easily allows my child's head to flop to the side when he falls asleep. I would expect it to be more contoured to an infant's head, 3. and one thing which is a huge annoyance is the handle adjustment. You basically have to push both the buttons at exactly the same time or the buttons get stuck and you can't put the handle back.
