I lucked out and found the Aztak 5" ebook reader website a month ago while searching the Web for ebook readers. For those who do not know what an ebook is, it is an Electronic Book and is priced a good amount less than a paper book. The promotion price was unbelievable but this reader had the one feature I and most ebook readers need, .pdf (Adobe) compatible!! Most ebooks are sold in this format and for the past 6 months I was purchasing my ebooks in this format to read on my computer, it was a definite must. I have had this reader for approximately 3 weeks and really like it. I was able to pick from a variety of colors and it also came with its own protective case (with Kindle, you had to buy the case). Some positives are it will hold a 16Gb data card which is like, a whole lot of books, many thousands!! Also, with .pdf ebooks you can zoom for easy reading. This reader claims to be able to read a LOT of formats, but I haven't tested that as of yet. The reader is about the size of a small paperback and weighs almost nothing. Instructions are easy to read and understand especially if you are willing to practice with it. This reader also holds and plays audio files and comes with earphones. I haven't used this feature because I have an ipod but it is a nice extra feature. This reader comes with usb hookup and recharge attachment. Also with a 1 Gb data card and 300 free ebooks, mostly classics, dictionaries and medical texts. One of the negatives is the .html files are hard to read. No zoom for these files but thankfully there is a feature that you can turn the "book" from vertical to horizontal on the screen and that enlarges to text. I haven't found another way to enlarge the text for this file but am still learning and hope to find something to help this. While the size is a positive, it is also a little bit of a negative because only so many words fit on the screen, you are constantly hitting the next page button. You need your computer to make your book files and to organize your reader, can't be done on the reader itself, so you need to be somewhat computer proficient. You need to know how to download an ebook on your computer, connect your reader and bring up your computer files and drag or copy/paste your ebooks to your ebook reader/data card. I am pretty proficient but many people I know would be clueless, so this wouldn't be a good gift for them unless you plan on helping them often. I love that I can have hundreds of books with me where ever I go and can fit this into my purse. The battery lasted 15 days with me reading for approximately 10 or so days for approx. 3-6 hours per day. For those interested just go to aztak.com. If you do purchase this, in the box when you receive your reader are a list of different websites that sell ebooks. I would definitely recommend this ebook reader for booklovers who like myself have run out of room for paper books and have gone into debt trying to keep myself entertained with paperbooks and current with my "authors" releases. Enjoy.
