What can I say about this miracle drug? I have suffered with migraines two to three times a week since before my son was born, that's over three years! I was prescribed Imitrex after my son was born. Sometimes the Imitrex worked and sometimes it didn't. Then my primary care physician decided to try something more proactive, to stop the migraine from starting instead of treating the migraine after it began.
I started taking Atenolol about a year and a half ago, and I could not be happier! I only get a migraine about once a month now, and that's usually when I forget to take my Atenolol. I take 25 mg everyday and I am almost completely migraine free. Atenolol, from what I understand, is normally a medication to treat high blood pressure and chest pain.
I don't know if you suffer migraines as often as I do, but I would suggest asking your doctor about Atenolol. From what I understand the side effects can be fatigue and dizziness, but your doctor would be the best person to ask about the benefits and side effects.
Five stars for me!
