I was recently trying to make a slide-show of some of my pictures for my mom's birthday and I was given a tip by a friend who told me that slide-shows while easy and take hardly any time to make are pretty outdated. He said that there's a new way to show your photos and set them to music. animoto.com...You'll dig this if you like making slide-shows but really want to beef up the cool-ness.
Well, I totally dig making slideshows and I'm all for beefing, and so I went to the web-site and in minutes I could see that it is just the way to impress anyone with it's classy new spin on slide-shows. You can even do commercials for your very own business in their business section.
It's really easy and fun to do. You select what pictures you want, you pick the order, add text if you wish in between the pictures, pick your music or something from their collection and animoto does the rest. They mix it for you like a movie with a cool selection of transitions from photo to photo that really transcends the average.
The only real downside is the cost to join to be able to make unlimited videos at no limit on length, but a free membership allows you unlimited 30 sec vids of your pics. They also can deposit them for you on twitter, facebook, myspace, youtube and more. You can also have them supply you with higher quality coding for putting on a disk and gift giving or family use for a nominal fee.
Also a cool feature is that If you don't dig the mix they picked, go in and edit or have them remix it with a different set of transitions and in minutes, you can have a fresh video looking sweet.
You can go to the site, view their demos or make your own for no cost and see how cool it really is. The decide for yourself if it's worth the money to join.
Have fun people!
