I'm really excited about the Reputation System and can't wait to see what the rest of the Viewpoints community thinks of it!

I went with two girlfriends to the Britney Spears concert last night. It was a great time! It didn't sound like Britney or the Pussycat Dolls sang a single lyric, but it was fun to be with my girlfriends and dancing the night away. Britney looked great, too! Fit, happy and fully clothed - sort of. :)

It's back to reality this week. I had a wonderful vacation on Sanibel Island with my sisters and my dad. I miss them terribly. I never thought it'd be so hard to be away from my family after graduation; it's definitely more than I bargained for! Luckily, I have great friends and a great job in Chicago, but I wish I could make it home more often. Thank goodness Southwest is now flying out of Midway and flights are less than $150 - woo hoo!

Apparently I've made Writer 1 status, too. That's exciting. I wonder when that happened...

I was able to make it to Ann Arbor, MI, last weekend to see my middle sister, Megan, compete at the Big Ten Conference Championships. It was hard not to be in the pool competing alongside Megan for the first time in 12 years, but I am so glad I was able to witness a historic moment in her career. She won the 200-yard fly; she's now a conference champion! Nothing would have made the weekend any better, except if my youngest sister Sarah had been there to share in the excitement with us.

Is it really only January 28? I'm in serious need of a vacation from this weather, and yet there's still 2+ months left of the snow, ice and frigid wind.

Every winter I swear to myself that it will be my last winter in Chicago, but every spring, summer and fall season I fall back in love with this wonderful city and convince myself that winter isn't so bad.

Note to self: I'm a great liar!

Well, since I can't beat winter, I might as well find ways to enjoy it. My favorite winter meal: grilled cheese dunked in bowls and bowls of soup or chili. Last night I chose grilled cheese with Progresso Light Chicken Vegetable Rotini soup (hm, I should review it). Delicious... but the preparation is unpredictably dangerous.

Note to self^2: Pam really IS flammable! Avoid pointing Pam spray in to gas burner flames!

Apparently, if a can of Pam doesn't kill me, this weather surely will.

    Happy New Year!

I'm starting 2009 off in a great way - with a brand new job. Here. Yep, at Viewpoints!

Matt and Jolie have been gracious (and crazy) enough to allow me to stay on board as a real team member at the end of my internship. I'm really excited to be able to stay here, not only as a reviewer but also as someone who can help develop and improve the site and community.

I hope all of your New Year's are starting off on the right foot, too. :)

Cheers to the great year ahead.

Who's excited about Thanksgiving? I'm excited about Thanksgiving! I love the Thanksgiving holiday. There's no gift-giving pressure (aka I don't feel like I am going broke by exceeding my budget) and I can eat all day long without feeling too guilty about it. Plus, Thanksgiving time means I get to return to my homeland (Minnesota) and spend some time in my family's hot tub. There's nothing like a relaxing ten minutes in a hot tub when it's 30 degrees outside.

    Happy Thanksgiving to all!
