My only complaints about this car are picky and fleeting. I've never owned a car before that I could use to blast through traffic with ease, hold my bike in the back (without taking off the wheel, even) and return 25-30+ miles per gallon, all at the same time!

The performance is impressive. This generation GTI uses the same 2.0 liter turbocharged 4-cylinder you can find in several Audi and VW products, and you can see why the car magazines approve - it's spirited from a standstill as well as at highway speeds (and beyond). I would recommend the DSG transmission, as it delivers better fuel...
