My Kenmore dishwasher is a basic model, but a bargain.  It is quiet, cleans well, and is easy to use.  I have had this machine for over 10 years with out a problem.  I have used various types of products in it.  Soaps include liquid, gel, powder, and tablets.  I find that the powder and gels work best.
