This book really sucked me in. The main character isn't perfect- sometimes he steals or lies, but considering the circumstances I can't say I really blame him. The author does a very good job of making you love the characters just enough to be able to wrench your heart out at the things that happen. Imagine time-travel as a chronic, disabling disease- and then compound that with falling completely in love with someone you can't take with you.
