    bathroom scales mat give you numbers you like, but the doctor's scale will almost always read 5 to 10 pounds heavier.  don't be alarmed. First of all, you usually visit the doctor towards afternoon when gravity has already kicked in. Plus maybe you've had a meal. Clothing and shoes will usually add up to about 6 pounds. My advice is to weigh first thing in the morning, naked to get the truest weight.
