I was hesitant to purchase a waffle maker at first, fearing it would be one more item to sit on my counter (or under it) and waste space.  But, at the urging of my husband, and the suggestion of my brother-in-law that this was the best waffle maker around, I purchased it as a "treat" for my husband.  We paid about $50.00 for it at Sams.
