We received the vtech 5.8 for a wedding gift. Our system had two handsets and it comes with an answering machine. The answering machine is a nice feature, but if you want to program it or change the message, you'll have to refer to your manual because it isn't overly easy or self-explanitory. The handsets themselves are alright, nothing special. They are made of plastic and feel really cheap. They just don't feel like a quality phone.
