This is one of the only products that adds voulme to my hair. I have straight, long (to my shoulder blades) hair that is average in thickness. I apply a few strategically placed squirts of this volumizing spray directly to my roots when my hair is wet. It works well to slightly massage the product into your roots after each squirt. I then blow dry my hair immediately. Beware--if you get trigger happy and apply too much product it will flake. I use about 5 pumps per day and that does the trick.
