    I purchased the 30D just over a year ago, when I upgraded from the Rebel XT. I have nothing negative to say regarding the 30D. It is easy to learn and use. I highly recommend buying the field guide when you purchase this camera. It goes into more depth of the ins and outs of the camera than the user guide that accompanies the camera.
