this AC is ok but not powerful enough

this air conditioner is ok, but it's not powerful enough. i expected it to be a lot more powerful than it is. however, i have heard that all portables are like that, so maybe it's just because of that. the sales person at the store told me that a lot of portables have been returned because they aren't powerful enough. he didn't say what brands. i don't really have the option to have a window ac, so this will have to do, but I would prefer the window one if i had the choice.
