When I was about five months pregant, I was invited to a free baby "safety seminar" at a hotel.  It ended up being a Baby Tenda rep grossly exaggerating the unsafe nature and durability of every baby product on the market, praying on the nesting instincts of a pregnant woman. 

We paid $650 for a crib/day bed with many more cons than pros.  In fact the only good thing I have to say about it is that I liked the nifty little doors.  After my c-section it was hard to bend over the crib, but I could unlatch the door and slide my baby out.  The two handed latch was great for safety, but difficult...
