For out of date and wrong info read this magazine

I was appalled by the out of date information and gross inaccuracies in the consumer reports magazine - this was in an area I know extremely well - so why should I have any confidence that the information they publish for areas where I am not so knowledgeable is any more accurate?
The only explanations are either they are being partial (gaining benefit from particular manufacturers) which I hope isn't the case, or complete and utter incompetence in not knowing how to properly test the items they are reviewing.
I couldn't award zero stars otherwise i would have.
