I think my time on Viewpoints is somewhat like the movie Brigadoon. I disappear and then reappear as if it were just the next day for me, though others may or may not have noticed my absence. Well, I'm back for now. I haven't been on the site since before Thanksgiving. So, I hope everyone had a nice holiday and lots to be thankful for.
Christmas is now upon us, and I wish that with the economy and all... that everyone would practice a pay-it-forward mentality. Do something kind and unexpected for someone else whether they be a stranger or someone you know. Isn't it truly more blessed to give than to receive?
Of course, I won't be buying as many gifts this year as in years past, but like many of us, there are people on my list that would be upset if I didn't get them more than I can truly afford. Oh well, I love to give... I only wish my means met the desire, LOL!
Blessings to all my friends and fans on Viewpoints :D
While I was at the grocery store the other night there was a little boy about 1 1/2 years old sitting in a shopping cart. He kept saying, "football, football, football..." in his childlike voice. Then, I heard his dad say, "no, that's a turkey, not a football". I looked to see what they were talking about, and there were a bunch of Thanksgiving turkeys packaged in dark brown plastic. It was very cute!
Happy Thanksgiving one and all!

I heard someone make a prediction today... and I think they may be right on the money... They said they think that exactly one week after the election all the banks are going to be closed down, and there are going to be soldiers in the streets. One week after November 4th will be November 11th... Veteran's Day... LOL (get-it) ;-p
Of course... there will be parades and all the banks are closed on that day :D
Here is an interesting and kind of fun historical trivia tidbit I recently read about:
The Spruce Goose which was the mammoth seaplane that Howard Hughes built in 1947, and it only flew for about a mile. Well, it was moved to its current home at the Evergreen Aviation Museum in McMinnville, Oregon. Anyway, when they dismantled it to move it from Long Beach to Oregon, several dozen 1940s vintage beach balls in various states of inflation were found hidden in the wings.
It turns out that Howard Hughes had the balls placed in the wing floats and all of the empty spaces in the fuselage so that the plane would be buoyant if it crashed.
Interesting!
