Home from China!
We've been home for a little over a week. The trip was an incredible experience, and all of the adoption procedures went smoothly. Our son is now adapting very well to his new home.We are (as you might imagine) very busy with the whole parenthood thing, but it's going great.
Haven't really posted much about what is going on here lately. So here's the recap:
Adoption: We're just waiting for the travel date. We could hear any time. Literally. It could be tomorrow. In the meantime, we're doing lots of little things to get ready, including taking Mandarin language classes twice a week at the Boston Language Institute. We just received a new set of luggage that we ordered, and this morning we had a meeting with the Visiting Nurses to go over Yun Gui's medical issues. Most likely dates of travel are late September or sometime in November (October is holiday season so there are no trips going over in October).
Work: Starting to get my act together for the beginning of school. We start really late this year, due to Labor Day being the latest that it can be. First day of classes is 9/10. Plenty to do before then.
Comics: CMy comics are going really well. I've been putting a lot of effort into the new www.dandelionstudios.com website. If you haven't been there yet, go look! New content is being posted at least twice a week, thanks to my wonderful artists who have been turning in some beautiful work. I'm still very hopeful that I'll have our new comics published in early 2010. Also have a few smaller comics projects in various stages with other publishers. We'll see if any of those end up happening.
Other Writing: Part one of my annual cliffhanger story goes online at www.edgeofpropinquity.net this weekend. TEoP continues to be my main prose focus. I have a couple of other things in the works, but I'm not quite ready to discuss them yet.
Home Renovation: Progress! The roof is finally going up. The upstairs electrical wiring is being done. The windows are in. We're getting there.
