I bought a Kenmore front load tumble action washer 9 years ago. Just recently it made a terrible sound during the spin cycle and would not cut off on its own. I had a repairman come look at it and he said to buy a new washer - the bearing broke and it costs more to fix it than it costs to buy a new washer. He said I got a lot more life out of this washer than most people get - he said most only last 5 years or so.
