    Call me old-fashioned, but it drives me crazy how disposable everything is these days. The first "big" purchase my husband and I made once we got married was a Kirby vacuum cleaner. My husband had sold them in the past and knew the quality of this item. It was a pricey purchase for newlyweds but the dog hair in the house drove me crazy. I have had my Kirby for 20 years now and have only had to have it serviced one time to replace the rotating bar. I have heard people complain that Kirbys are heavy and hard to manage.
