I purchased an Oreck XL Professional Air Purifier in August 2005 directly from the Oreck website and have been using it daily ever since.  I initally had some problems with it about the time Hurricane Katrina hit - when I soaked it to clean the filter some of the wires came lose.  I called Oreck and they immediately mailed me a replacement filter.  They said that the red light would be on and unless it sparked it was safe to use it.  Since it was during Hurricane Katrina's immediate aftermath, it took a little longer than normal to get the replacement but I felt that under the circumstances...
