I bought this Garmin 255W unit within the past month.  It is my first GPS unit, which I bought after spending a few days traveling with my brother in an unfamiliar city and discovering how useful his GPS unit (a Garmin 600-series, I believe) was in keeping us from getting lost.

The 255W is quite easy to use.  It's self-explanatory/ intuitive, and the widescreen touchscreen is much easier to see than the regular-sized screens.  The mount onto the windshield is easy to mount and remove so it isn't obvious that you have one when you leave the car.
