though the battery is not really long lasting - it still has the adaptor for plug-in use, and for that reason the product is great. i have used it almost daily for over 5 years and it's still as good as it was when i first got it. i never had the need to walk down the block with it, so i can't say much for that, but it works all over the house, with no interference.
