The Arch defines St. Louis, it's true. As a local, I have only been up inside the Arch a few times, but it is lovely any time I go. In the base is the Museum of Westward Expansion, a great little museum with many relics from the Lewis and Clark expeditions, including a full-size buffalo that kids love to look at. It really is a good museum for kids.
