The Memphis zoo is ok.  I have been to several zoos and around the country.  While the Memphis zoo has interesting animals, the landscaping isn't the most attractive I have ever seen.

The Memphis zoo is pretty easy to reach and admission is reasonable.  In the summer, they often run specials where Tennesseans can get in free with a valid ID.  What I really noticed was the entrance to the zoo.  It is supposed to evoke ancient Egyptian times (this is Memphis, after all), which it did.  The facade is one of the more unique that I've seen.
